1. To whom did you last give the finger?
I dunno...probably someone who pissed me off as I was driving. And I give the finger in private; I just don't have the balls to actually hold it up.
2. If you had 1,000 dollars and HAD to spend it, what would you buy?
New bedroom furniture. I'd start off with the bed, and get a new mattress and boxspring. Then I'd get a dresser, armoire, and a nightstand.
3. What was the last beverage you spilled on yourself?
Most likely coffee...I don't have a good memory for spilling things on myself.
4. When was the last photograph you took? What was it of?
I can't remember the last time I took a photo, and I'm too lazy to go across the room and look up the shots on my digital camera.
5. Who was the last person to smoke a cigarette in your presence?
People who know me know me well enough not to do this. I'm asthmatic. I literally can't breathe around cigarettes.
6. What animal did you last pet or hold?
One of my cats.
7. What was the last superstitious thing you did?
Whenever I buy a beverage with a straw, I take the straw out of the wrapper, tie the wrapper in a knot, and pull both ends. Supposedly, if the knot breaks, someone's thinking of you. I've been doing this since college.
8. What was the last text message you received?
Something from Twitter.
9. Berleen has decided to buy twelve goats. If she trades three for some awesome pot, loses one while she was stoned, what do you think she did with the rest?
LUNCHTIME!!!!
10. What was the last musical instrument played in your presence?
I went to a band concert last month, if that counts. There was a piano, a drum kit, and a bass.
11. What was the last note that you wrote on your hand?
Something many, many years ago. I no longer use the original Palm Pilot, and haven't for years.

Men are from Mars, women are from Venus. :)

A. If you see a tornado out your window, what do you do?
I live in Connecticut. Tornadoes are, sadly, becoming a part of life here, even though they weren't very common before. If I saw one out my window, I'd probably enter into Freakout Mode and run around my house like a banshee, panicking because I was facing impending death.
B. A celebrity knocks on your door saying that their tour bus/limo/pedal bike broke down (you pick the transportation)... who is it and what do you do to help them?
It's Pee Wee Herman, and his bike got a flat. I'd help him out by fixing his tire and giving him a generous serving of ice cream soup.
C. Brett is back on the Vikings - do you really give a crap?
No, and I don't really give a crap about American football, either.
D. What side of the bed do you think Bud sleeps on?
He sleeps in the middle, so he can have a French Twin on either side of him.
E. Cookie Monster eats vegetables now. Is this ok with you?
No! He's the Cookie Monster! He can't eat veggies! Stupid political correctness...
F. All the TT's get together for coffee... which state do we meet in?
Well, this is a tough choice...you've got Seattle, Washington, home of Starbucks, Seattle's Best, and cool music...but you could also go to Hawaii, where the Kona coffee is incredibly tasty...oh, hell, Hawaii! It's warm, there's fabulous beaches, and lots of eye candy.
G. Is the town you live in famous for anything? Infamous for anything?
My city is famous for being the home of Wesleyan University. It's infamous for a big explosion at a clean-energy power plant earlier this year.
H. Coffee flavored bubble gum - would you?
Hells, no! Why should I get coffee flavored bubble gum? I can't even get coffee flavored coffee! (Warning: lots of foul language in the video below):
I. So Kimber lost her fight with a granite table.... what did you ever lose a fight with?
An Exacto knife. Long story short, I ended up losing a lot of blood, had a thick skin flap on my thumb, some stitches, and a lot of scar tissue and numbness.

I've been camping before, so yeah.
K. School is starting up soon, or has for some, did you get a new pair of tennis shoes every year while you were in school?
I got a new pair of loafers, or any type of leather shoes. I went to Catholic school, so I had to comply with the dress code.
L. What two flavors do you love that you would never want to taste at the same time?
Chocolate and garlic. Love them both, but sometimes two great tastes DON'T taste great together.
M. If you could shave a quote into a lions fur, what would it say?
You think it's easy to get near a lion who would let you do this? But if I were able to do so, I'd shave the MGM logo into its fur. Kinda like an ironic lion tattoo.
N. Did you ever accidentally walk in on your parents doing the nasty? Did you ever purposely walk in on them?
No to both questions...hell, no one should ever even think about this possibility...gross!

1. We know how creative Berleen is with her terrific tee-shirts and such, so how about you? Do you draw anything or perhaps your name in the sand when you go to the beach?
I scrapbook and cross stitch. That's pretty crafty. As for drawing, stick figures are the way to go for moi.
2. Kimber doesn’t always leave her house. I wonder if she knows what is out her back door. What is out your back door?
Trees and a state highway. And the other half of the horseshoe driveway that goes through my condo complex.
3. Do you prefer the beach, a pool or a lake? Why?
The beach. More opportunities for people watching, plus I love the salty air scent. And there's nothing like the feeling of sand between your toes.
4. What is something recently that happened to you that you are REALLY excited about?
Life's been pretty dull lately. Like I said on Facebook the other night, there are some potentially exciting changes coming up, but first I gotta go through Freakout Mode. (I'm not ready to share those changes in Blogland, yet, though. However, I must add it has nothing to do with a new man in my life).
5. I am fortunate that I come from a very close family. Are any of your great-grandparents still alive? If not did you ever meet them?
I only met my great-grandparents through stories my own parents told.
6. When was the last time you spoke in front of a large group? Tell us about it.
About a week ago, at a church meeting. Nothing major, just expressing an opinion.
7. Have you ever bungee jumped? Would you ever bungee jump?
No to both questions!!!
8. How strong emotionally do you think you are?
I'm a little weakling.
9. Kimber and Berleen still have NEVER met, yet they are best friends. What is the first thing you notice about people when you meet them?
Eyes are the windows to the soul.
10. Who do you mess with the most?
My best friend. Because it's FUN!!!
11. Who was the last person you talked to on a landline?
Uhhhh...what's a landline?
12. I finally saw Avatar this week. What was the last movie you watched long after it came out and loved?
I honestly don't know. I'm not into movies.
13. What did you dream about last night?
Blackness. Pitch blackness.

My Pampered Chef cookie press. I just can't seem to get the hang of it. Not that I have time to bake cookies these days...

Mel Gibson. Given all of the press about his rants on tape, I don't feel the need to explain.

Barely staying awake right now.
Coffee is a godsend. If I'm in a rush in the morning, I go to...
Dunkin' Donuts for a large iced dark roast. Best iced coffee beverage I've ever had.
Every now and then I will purchase breakfast at Dunkin' Donuts...a turkey sausage egg white flatbread.
Flatbreads at Dunkin' Donuts are tres yummy.
Got tickets to see Carol Burnett on Saturday night!! This makes me very...
HAPPY!!!
I'm also going to see Conan in two and a half weeks, as you know. I'm not too excited about that one...
JUST KIDDING!!! You know that I'm a Conan fangirl! Or CocoNut...or CocoHead, whatever ya wanna call it.
Kias are great cars. My old Spectra lasted over 147,000 miles, and my new Spectra is even better.
Love the show 30 Rock. Season finale tomorrow night? Will Jack choose Avery or Nancy?
Maybe he'll choose Avery, but I'm hoping for...

The village, calling me to tell them that their idiot was missing.
3. It seems that there are several very popular memes each day of the week. Which meme did you first become a regular of?
This one! Now I'm not so much a regular. I post whenever I can.
4. It is about time that Berleen and Kimber meet in person. Should we start a collection to fly one of them to the other, or just hope Thom's bus and get from Hawaii to Kimber in Arizona and take her to Berleen in Minnesota?
Why not meet halfway in, say, Nebraska?
5. Tell us about your pets. Do you have one that you wish would run away?
I have two cats, Maggie and Gabby, and no, I do not wish that they would run away!

Lipstick.
7. I have a train that runs by where I live several times a day. I actually find it peaceful. What's the longest journey that you have taken by train?
Twelve hours, from Madrid to Paris. Slept in a sleeper car with five of my high school classmates. I loved it!
8. If Kimber threw a five dollar bill off a building that was five stories high, and Berleen threw a twenty off a build that was six stories high, who do you think would find the money?
Some kid who likes to stand at on the street, near the ground floor, and waits all day for money to fall from the sky.

Jackie Onassis. Don't know why; her name was the first to come to mind.
10. What are your three favorite possessions?
iPod, DVR, cell phone. In that order.

I haven't thunked in awhile now. I thought tonight would be good to get back into the swing of things, particularly blogging.
My oldest demon (aka Demon #1) is in Oklahoma! The musical this weekend. Yep, my kid is a drama geek. Have you ever been in a play or musical? Were you in the drama club in high school?
I was in the drama club in middle school, but not high school. Back in middle school we did musicals that were expressly written for the middle school stage; we never did traditional ones like Oklahoma.
Of course, the year after I graduated, Sister Kitten's class did the HMS Pinafore. Go fig.
You are walking down the road and the cops fly by you and stop at the house just a little ways down the street. It's the way you were going to go... do you take a detour to avoid it or do you just keep walking because, hey - you had the idea first! or do you walk by out of complete curiosity?
I take a detour, because, with my luck, I'd be called as a witness to the crime. And Lord knows what's going on there...
I drop a green crayon from the roof and Kimber drops a yellow one - which one will grow wings and fly before it hits the ground?
The yellow one...I've never seen a green bird.
What is the first section of the grocery store you go to? And I know that sentence doesn't sound right, but I don't care.
The pasta and cereal aisles. I save the refrigerated stuff and the produce for last, so they won't have time in my cart to spoil.

Depends on the degree of laziness I'm feeling at the moment.

My BFF has one green eye and one hazel eye. Gabby, my younger cat, has one green eye and one gold eye. I think it's cool, and just adds to their mystique.

3. If you could live on any planet other than Earth, which one would you choose and why?
Jupiter! Right smack dab in the middle o' the Big Red Spot. I have always wanted to see what the Big Red Spot would be like.

1. Do you have a guilty conscious?
I think you mean guilty conscience. And to answer your question, hell yeah. I was raised Catholic. That alone should explain it.
2. Do you still have your wisdom teeth?
Non. I had 'em yanked when I was 19. The day after I came home from college for the summer, as a matter of fact. They put me under the anesthesia, I was out cold, but I could still feel the good doc yank 'em out. But that's another story for another time...NOT!
3. Peanut butter--creamy or crunchy?
Definitely creamy. I don't like food in my food.
4. Get up off your butt. Take 5 steps. Which leg did you start out on?
I put my right leg in, I put my right leg out, I put my right leg in, and I shook it all about...
5. What color is your favorite kitchen utensil?
BAH! You really think that I know this? I don't have a favorite kitchen utensil. Just appliances. And for the record, my fave appliance, my Kitchen-Aid stand mixer that I bought from Craigslist for wicked cheap, is white.
6. Did you watch the Michael Jackson memorial/funeral?
Yes I did. I was on the verge of tears when Jermaine Jackson sang "Smile," but his daughter's remarks at the very end opened the floodgates. I just lost it then.
7. Do you know anyone who graduated from high school this year? Were you invited to their graduation party? Did you go?
I knew a lot of people who graduated from high school this year, but did not get invited to any parties. However, I did get invited to, and attended, a college graduation party.
8. White with black stripes or black with white stripes?
I would prefer not to look like a reverse zebra or someone in jail, thank you very much.
9. If we were to call your 6th grade teacher, what would they say about you?
I worked really hard in my classes, was polite, quiet, but could be very silly at times. I was your basic goody-two-shoes in 6th grade. When I was silly it wasn't for attention getting purposes; I was just being myself.
10. Can you draw a perfect circle?
With or without a compass? I'm assuming without. Let's see:

11. What was your favorite scratch and sniff sticker scent?
Whoa! Talk about a trip in the Wayback Machine, Mr. Peabody! I was always partial to the candy scents--chocolate, peanut butter, caramel, etc. I didn't much care for the fruity ones. However, anyone remember those fruity-scented markers? Oh, I loved those scents! The grape one was my favorite!
12. What does your sibling do for a living?
Sister Kitten works in the insurance industry. I will not disclose the name of the company, but let's just say our family owns a lot of red umbrellas.
13. How many light switches and electrical outlets are in the room you are in right now?
One light switch and three outlets. If you count the power strip underneath my computer desk, there are an additional five outlets.
14. Do you know sign language?
I can sign the alphabet easily. I used to know more signs, since I had a deaf neighbor when I was a kid, but not anymore. My favorite sign, however, has got to be the finger. I know it's not really a sign, but sometimes the flash of that middle digit can say it all...and so many different things, too...
15. Do you step on cracks in the sidewalk?
If I paid attention to that I would keep bumping into things. I'd rather not do that. Besides, I want my mother's back to remain nice and strong. She has osteoporosis, so she needs all the help she can get.
16. And the sheets on your bed look like...
Plain, ordinary sheets. Your regular 300-count, comfy, airy cotton. Oh yeah, and they're periwinkle, too.
17. What is something that everyone else has, but you don't?
DVR or TiVo. I want DVR in the worst possible way. However, I'm not about to pay CONcast cable an extra $20 a month for equipment rental and fees. I already pay $67 a month for a limited selection of channels, which they keep taking away from me and putting on digital. And it costs even more to upgrade to digital!
I feel another "Dear So and So..." letter comin' on! Hmmm...I've had some inspiration for quite a few posts these past few days! Stay tuned, dear readers!!!

It's been a long time since I've done the Thursday Thunks meme. Truth be told, I was meme'd out and needed a break. But I'm back, and ready for more!
1. When you close a door, do you close it quick and just let it slam or do you hold the knob and slowly shut it tight?
Most of the time I hold the knob and let it shut slowly. But there are times, and let's admit it, kittens, that you're so pissed off at the world that slamming a door just feels so right.
2.Train A is moving at 60 miles an hour. Train B is moving at 22 miles an hour. They will pass each other at X time. Now what color shoes are you wearing when train A derails?
Black. Most of my shoes are black. But I'd care more about surviving the derailment than I would the color of my damn shoes.
3. What if M&M's grew on trees? What color M&M tree would you have?
Green. ;)
4. How many petals on a flower does it take to make it the perfect bloom?
Enough so I can pick 'em off, one at a time, and go "He loves me, he loves me not, he loves me, he loves me not...HE LOVES ME!!!!"

1. Why the heck did you come back this week to do this meme?
I've had a long week and desperately needed to destress. Besides, the questions were really good this week--the best they've been in a while.
2. Ever whiten your teeth?
I tried about eight years ago, right before a wedding that I was a bridesmaid in. The peroxide in them irritated my gums, so I stopped after a couple of days.
3. Do you drive the speed limit?
Hell no! There's a reason why they call me Lead Foot! Besides, if you're in Connecticut, and you drive I-95, you're required to go over the limit. You drive the limit and you'll be among the dead possums at the side of the road.
4. Did the dog eat your homework?
Uh, well, see Miss, the dog didn't mean to eat my homework, but, see, I spilled some gravy on it cuz I was doing it while I was eating dinner an' the dog smelled the gravy and...well, the creative juices are running low tonight. Sorry guys.
5. How many bites does it take to get to the center of a watermelon?
As many licks as it takes to get to the Tootsie Roll center of a Tootsie Pop.
6. Did you eat paint chips as a child?
Ewww! Gross! I never heard or anyone eating paint chips! I did eat Meow Mix on occasion, though, and it was quite tasty, from what I remember.
7. If someone knocked on your door at 1am, would you answer it?
NO!!! There's too much violence in our world nowadays!
8. "Amazingly Smooth" makes you think of what?
An advertisement for some new cream that gets rid of the hair on women's legs "up to twice as long as shaving!"
9. What was the last stupid thing someone said to you? (not counting this meme’s questions)
I can't remember the last stupid thing, but it's hard to top someone asking me, "Did you know that Bill Clinton's married to Hillary Clinton?"
10. Would you eat a stick of butter for $100?
No, I wouldn't. Pass the Meow Mix, please.
11. Find the nearest fabric tab, not counting your clothing you are wearing. What does it say the object is made of and where was it made?
Polyester, rayon, and spandex, made with pride in Guatemala.
12. What is the strangest name you’ve ever heard someone name their child?
It's really hard to top some of the celebrity baby names out there. Again, I can't think of too many clever things to write tonight.

I think it depends on the paper. I used recycled paper toilet paper, and that's not exactly the softest kind, but it's better for the environment--or rather, my conscience.

I can already tell this is a very random edition of Thursday Thunks! Well, I'm post-dating this Wednesday night at 5, and I just got home from work. The last thing I ate was right after I got home: a peanut butter Fiber One bar. Tres yummy, tres filling, and will tie me over till dinner.
2. I say the color purple.. what do you think of?

3. Lamps or ceiling lights?
Lamps. I'm five feet tall, Kittens. I don't like ceiling lights--or ladders--much.
4. What color rabbit is your favorite?
Look, I know it's Easter and all, but I don't spend my time thinking about this! Why should I care what color rabbit is my favorite?
But to answer the question...I'll go with white. It's the color of the Cadbury Bunny. Because nobunny knows Easter better than him.
5. Your car breaks down on a deserted road and your cell phone has no signal - what do you do?
I go into Freakout Mode! I also pray that a good samaritan will come. The last two times I've been helped out by good samaritans. I know I'm lucky that way.
6. What is one thing most of your friends do online that you just can't understand the fascination and do not participate in?
Play online virtual reality games with other people. I don't get it. They sit on the computer for hours...and hours...and hours...I'm talking about games like World of Warcraft, which are horribly violent and senseless.
7. What do you need right now?
Sleep. Beautiful, glorious sleep.
8. And your most serious injury you've had was....?
Fortunately I haven't had any really serious injuries like broken bones or sprains or concussions. I did slice my left thumb open with an exacto knife once. Fortunately it didn't get to the muscle, tendon, or bone, but it did break off a chunk of skin and have a lot of blood loss. I went to the ER, got a tetanus shot, and some of those paper stitches that double as band-aids. I don't know what you call them. Most of the scar has faded now, but there's still some numbness and a lot of scar tissue in that area.

Random, eh? Welllllllllllllll...I hate peas. I mean, can't stand 'em. I don't like the texture or flavor. No matter how much one tries to hide them in my food, I always pick them out. This is the reason why I don't eat mixed veggies--you know, the frozen ones that come in bags?
1. What was the last thing you ate?
I can already tell this is a very random edition of Thursday Thunks! Well, I'm post-dating this Wednesday night at 5, and I just got home from work. The last thing I ate was right after I got home: a peanut butter Fiber One bar. Tres yummy, tres filling, and will tie me over till dinner.
2. I say the color purple.. what do you think of?

3. Lamps or ceiling lights?
Lamps. I'm five feet tall, Kittens. I don't like ceiling lights--or ladders--much.

Look, I know it's Easter and all, but I don't spend my time thinking about this! Why should I care what color rabbit is my favorite?
But to answer the question...I'll go with white. It's the color of the Cadbury Bunny. Because nobunny knows Easter better than him.
5. Your car breaks down on a deserted road and your cell phone has no signal - what do you do?
I go into Freakout Mode! I also pray that a good samaritan will come. The last two times I've been helped out by good samaritans. I know I'm lucky that way.
6. What is one thing most of your friends do online that you just can't understand the fascination and do not participate in?
Play online virtual reality games with other people. I don't get it. They sit on the computer for hours...and hours...and hours...I'm talking about games like World of Warcraft, which are horribly violent and senseless.
7. What do you need right now?
Sleep. Beautiful, glorious sleep.
8. And your most serious injury you've had was....?
Fortunately I haven't had any really serious injuries like broken bones or sprains or concussions. I did slice my left thumb open with an exacto knife once. Fortunately it didn't get to the muscle, tendon, or bone, but it did break off a chunk of skin and have a lot of blood loss. I went to the ER, got a tetanus shot, and some of those paper stitches that double as band-aids. I don't know what you call them. Most of the scar has faded now, but there's still some numbness and a lot of scar tissue in that area.

1. Did you play any April Fools jokes on anyone or have a joke played on you?
Yep, I played one and was the lucky recipient of one, too.
2. If you could be on any non-reality TV show as a guest star or star, which one would it be and why?
I'd love to be on The Carol Burnett Show. Yeah, I know it's been off the air for over 30 years, but it would have been so much fun to act with the regulars. They looked like they were having such a good time up on stage.
3. Do you crack your knuckles?
I've never been able to crack a knuckle.
4. If you remember your first day of kindergarten, were you scared or excited? If you have kids or grandkids, were they scared or excited?
I was excited. I couldn't wait to go to school!
5. If you are in the shower, hear the fire alarm going off and smell smoke/see flames, will you just run out of the house with a towel on or grab some clothes & dress as you run out?
I'd run my ass outta there with just the shower curtain around my torso. Wait a minute, the curtain would melt. Stop, drop and roll, right? Still, my first priority would be to get out. No time to dress. Towel, please!
6. Last week the Thursday Thunkers asked about your Daddy (twice), so this week tell us a little about your Mom.
Uhhh...she's 64 and gave birth to me 33 years ago.
7. Which search engine do you use most often?
Yahoo, since it's my Internet provider.
8. Did you participate in Earth Hour?
Sadly, no. I was a hypocrite and blogged the whole time without realizing the hour was occurring.
9. What was the last new-to-you movie you watched? Was it in the theater or on DVD? Was it good?
I can't remember the last time I watched a movie.
10. If you do something embarrassing, do you laugh it off, or sit & worry about it?
I worry obsessively.
11. Where is your favorite spot in your home to sit & relax?
My living room. It's got my entertainment center and my books, my rocking chairs and my couch. What more do I need?

Welcome to another edition of Thursday Thunks--the first sign that the weekend's almost here!

1. The last flight of stairs you walked up/down - were they carpeted?
Yes, they were! I walked up the stairs from my foyer up to my living room. They have a beige carpet, just like the rest of the house.
2. Green or purple grapes?
I like eating purple grapes better, but I prefer drinking white grape juice,which is made from green grapes.
3. Do you like Peeps?
I don't like consuming Peeps. They're too sweet. Throw 'em in the microwave, however, and you've got a totally different ball game.
4. The smell of Vicks - like it?
It's not so bad in minute doses. I wouldn't want to smell it all day, though; reminds me too much of a doctor's office, hospital, or just being sick in general.
5. Do you put decorative cling-ons on your windows for different holidays?
I tried to do this once, but I didn't really like it. I only decorate for Christmas. I've never really liked decorating for other holidays; as a child I absolutely loathed pumpkin carving at Halloween.
6. Finish the sentence - I spent too much money on ________.
Books and makeup. Books are obvious; after all, I am the Bookkitten. However, get me in a Sephora and I will literally go insane. I freakin' love that store. Or rather, get me in any makeup section of any store and I will go insane. Hmmm...sounds like a Kitten Confession post is coming...
7. Which celebrity should be flown into outer space or placed on a desert island?
Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes should just leave the planet. Right away. I think I hear the announcement for their flight, now boarding for Saturn at gate 22.
8. Would you support schools changing the "open" time? Such as 10am - 5pm, for example?
Kids and adults alike benefit from more sleep. I'm not sure about the 10am - 5pm time, but I'm more at ease with 9am to 4pm.
9. Do you go fishing?
I used to fish when I was a kid. My grandparents used to have a cottage in the Adirondacks, on the banks of the Hudson River. They had a little pontoon dock, and I used to go out on the dock in my little Snoopy life jacket, carrying my little Snoopy fishing pole. My grandfather would put the bobber on the line for me, and I'd go out there and fish. I was always disappointed that I never caught a fish on that dock.
Several years ago, I learned why: Grandpa never put any bait on the line. I can't believe I was fooled like that. (Then again, he always distracted me when he hooked the line for me, so I never saw the deception).

No. I don't like the crunch sound it makes when you step on it.
2. What is one fantasy that you want to come true more than any other?
Not having to worry about finances ever again.
3. Someone knocks on your door. Do you look out the window to see who it is before you open it? Do you open it regardless of who it is?
Yes, I look out the window to see who it is. I open it if it's a friend, neighbor, the postman, or the UPS guy. Otherwise, if I have no idea who it is, I don't open the door.
4. Have you ever eaten Play Doh?
Only the homemade kind. Mama Cat used to make it with a mixture of flour, salt, and water.
5. What was your favorite Saturday morning cartoon as a child and why?
The Bugs Bunny Road Runner Show. I loved Bugs Bunny.
6. Are you a "people watcher"?
Yes. I'm fascinated by human nature.
7. I have a bowl of fruit. There are apples, oranges & pears. You help yourself to one - which one do you choose?
An apple. I don't like oranges or pears.
8. What is your biggest pet peeve in the blogging world?
People who use their blogs to deliberately hurt others.

I'm a Unitarian Universalist. We're open to and recognize all religious practices.

Jackass...especially when I'm in the car.

In the morning, as long as possible, to delay getting ready for work a little bit. At night, I'm usually in and out, because I want to get to bed quickly.

Lentil with lots of parmesan cheese sprinkled on top.

What's with the squashing bugs today? I'd only squash the bugger (pardon the pun) if my sandwich was in danger.

I can't remember the last time, but back in college, my freshman year, a friend of mine had convinced all of our mutual friends that he and his girlfriend were getting married. It tunred out not to be true; in fact, they broke up five months later.
8. Ever seen Michael Jackson in person?
No. I was too young to see any of the Victory tour, and by the time he last toured I had lost interest in his music.
9. Do you have a gut?
I always listen to my gut. It never fails me. I have good intuition.
10. What is one thing in your kitchen you have too many/too much of?
Lentils. I was into making lentil soup for a while, but haven't made it all winter.
11. Ever had a colon cleansing?
Yes, I have, and what better note to end this week's Thursday Thunks on? Ya glad I decided to do this? I am! :)

1. What kind of dryer sheets do you use?
I don't use dryer sheets. I use Method fabric softener.
2. How many times a week do you eat out/order in?
Once a week, usually.
I went to a party that the school held.
4. So Octomom is rumored to have been offered a million bucks to do a porno. Would you do it for a million?
I wish everyone would leave Octomom alone. I'm not answering this one.
5. If your child was born with an extra finger or toe, would you have it surgically removed?
Only if it significantly affected his/her way of living.
6. What was the last movie you saw?
I honestly have no idea. I haven't been to the cinema in five or six years. I hate going to the movies...I'll blog about that some other time.
7. I wanna buy you a dozen roses, what color should they be?
Peach colored. I hate red roses!
8. You are walking across the street, you are not quite half way when a speeding car comes... you have to run to get out of its way, which direction do you run?
In the opposite direction of the car! Or whatever direction that'll let me get out of the way!
I was invited to a friend's birthday party my freshman year of high school. I didn't know anyone else at the party except for my friend. I was very shy when I was in high school, and that made it much harder for me.
10. You open your front door and there is a box with a puppy in it... what do you do?
Take it to the Humane Society. The cats wouldn't get along with it. Besides, I already have the maximum number of pets that my condo association will permit me to have.

Good day, Kittens, and welcome to another fun-filled episode of Thursday Thunks!
1. What brand & flavor of toothpaste do you use?
Crest Multi-Care Whitening Plus Scope, peppermint flavor. Mama Cat, in her infinite wisdom, gifted me with a four-pack of extra large tubes of this stuff two Christmases ago. She got it at Costco, along with a whole bunch of other items. I'm on the last tube now. (I go through about two tubes of toothpaste per year. Remember, Kittens, I am the only human living in my condo).
2. What is your earliest memory?
The birth of Sister Kitten. I was three years old at the time, and I remember running up and down the nursery hall, between my mother's room, and looking at my brand-new baby sister.
3. Hot Dogs or Hamburgers?
Hamburgers, by far. Do y'all know what hot dogs are made of? Honestly!
4. If you could bring any one famous person back to life, who would it be?
Franklin Delano Roosevelt (FDR). I'd like for him and President Obama to have a serious meeting of the minds. I wonder what FDR would think about our current economic situation, and how he would help our current president resolve it.
5. What is one thing we would always find in your fridge... what one thing would we never find?
You will always find a bottle of white wine in my fridge. I tend towards pinot grigio, but I also like a nice chardonnay. One thing you will never find, sadly, is a bottle of Dom... :(
6. Did you have to go and look for the answer of #1?
Nope. I've been using Crest since I was a kid, with the exceptions of the rare occasions when Papa Cat did the grocery shopping. Then we'd find Aim or Gleem near the bathroom sink. Eventually, he got the message, and stopped grocery shopping.
7. What don't watermelons grow on trees?
Do you mean "WHY" don't watermelons grow on trees? Because the watermelons would just weigh down the tree branches and eventually lead to the collapse of the tree.
On that note, I really wish money could grow on trees right now...if that were the case we'd all be out of this stinkin' financial crisis right now...or we'd be in debt, since there are either few or no plants that bear fruit year-round (I'm no botanist, so don't ask...)
8. What is something that you own that you should probably just throw in the trash, but you never will?
My Cape Cod sweatshirt. It's old, aging, and ratty, but it has sentimental value. It will be 17 years old this year. I guess I should throw away my blue Fairfield sweatshirt, too (the one I'm wearing now), but I can't, for the same reasons.
9. I push you into a room and lock the door. I leave you there for 6 hours. The walls are chalkboards and in the middle of the room there is a box of colored chalk. What will be written/drawn on the walls when I let you out?
Doodles of my cats. Doodles of trees. Writing that says, "GET ME THE F--- OUTTA HERE!" No grand artwork, cuz I can't draw.

Why, two weeks ago, as a matter of fact!
11. In your extended family, who has been married the longest?
My aunt and uncle. They've been married almost 50 years.
12. Name one thing that is so normal to you now that someone who was your age 50 years ago would think was abnormal.
Well, let's see, let's think back, an almost-33-year-old woman in 1959, what would be abnormal to an almost-33-year-old woman in 1959? AH! Eureka! I've got it! Being an unmarried homeowner with a successful career and no ambitions to marry or to raise kids! That would be abnormal to an almost-33-year-old woman in 1959! But it's perfectly normal to me--because I've just described myself!
13. Have you ever wanted someone or something so bad that it hurt?
Yeah...my first love...back in high school. Like many of my loves, it was, of course, unrequited. Remember, Kittens, I have a PhD in Unrequited Love from the School of Hard Knocks.
14. What do you dip your french fries in?
Ketchup. Good ol', plain, ordinary, Heinz 57. No other ketchup will do.
15. What was the last picture that you took?
It was a picture of Sister Kitten's oldest cat as she sat in her LL Bean terrycloth tote bag.

A desktop, sadly. One of my goals in the next two years is to purchase a laptop.

6. My daughters tried out for the school musical last night. Were you ever in a school play/musical? Which one?
I had a lead in the school play when I was in the 8th grade. It was one of those plays especially written for middle school. It was called How the West Was Really Won. The following year, when Sister Kitten was in middle school, they did H.M.S. Pinafore. Go fig.
7. I read yesterday that a school PTA group wants to try to ban white bread, cakes, brownies or any other "treat" from their lunch menus... plus make kids' lunchboxes brought from home not include any "junk food". Thoughts on that one?
I'm all for banning the simple sugars and carbs from school menus. However, there are families out there who can't afford to buy the better foods that should go in their kids' lunches. There's no way that a school can have so much control over the bagged lunches, not to mention, how much effort would go into policing and disciplining those who do bring in the junk.
8. How many people can your kitchen table seat?
Seating for six, non-smoking. My kitchen table's not in my kitchen; it's in a little area at the top of the stairs. If you move it in the middle of the living room, there's plenty of seating for six.
9. What time is it right now?

10. Walk out the front door of your house/apartment, turn right, walk 2 blocks. What do you see?
I'm at the intersection with the A&P/Staples shopping plaza on my left, with the Home Depot shopping plaza on my right. There's a traffic light at that intersection.

Welcome to another edition of Thursday Thunks, Kittens!
1. What is one of your favorite blogs to read? Why is it your favorite?
I love all the blogs I read, but Yaya Stuff is so compelling, so honest, and so real. Yaya doesn't pull any punches about her struggle with infertility, and she writes as if she's talking directly to you. I really, really, hope that she and her husband become parents soon. They would make an awesome mom and dad.
Not only that, but Yaya is a very loving person and always leaves comment love where she goes. She was one of my first followers, and through her blog, I've discovered other blogs that have become faves.
2. Have you ever been hunting?
No. I can't stand to see to see an animal die.
3. Do you live near any active volcanos?
Uhhh...I live in Connecticut. Does that answer your question?
4. If VH1 came out with a new reality show called Celebrity Anger Management, who would you most like to see on the show?
Christian Bale immediately pops to mind...and Gary Coleman...and Gary Busey...
5. Would you drink horse's milk if offered?
I'll stick to cow and soy milk, thank you very much.
6. Do you buy pickles? If so, what do you do with the juice after all the pickles are gone?
I don't like pickles. Do you think I would buy pickles if I did not like them?
7. Do you have a myspace or Facebook account?
I have one under my real name, not my blog pseudonym.
8. Facial hair on men, yea or nay?
Depends on the guy. Some men look really good with it, others should stay clean shaven. For example, President Obama and a beard? Nay. (Come to think of it, how many of our 21st century congressmen have facial hair?)
9. Do you know anyone personally who is stockpiling stuff for WWIII or a date they think will be the end of the world (i.e. 12/2012)?
No.
10. Have you downloaded Skype and use it?
No. I have no one to use it with.
11. Have you ever been stuck by cacti?
Yes. I was stuck by an aloe plant with sharp spikes. I recently learned that aloe is a form of cactus.
12. Do you still have packed boxes from your last move you have yet to unpack? If so, how long have they been there?
I have been in my condo for almost six years. I would hope that I've unpacked everything!
13. Ever have a toxic friend you had to break ties with to save your sanity?
Oh God, yeah...several...quite a few, actually. There were a group of girls that I was friends with during my first three years of college, and when we were seniors, things fell apart. We tried to reconnect after graduation, but it wasn't meant to be.
