Kitten's 2009 Read Your Own Books Challenge

I told you I can't stop signing up for reading challenges!

This one's easy, and it comes from MizB. The rules are easy: set a goal for how many of your OWN books you'd like to read in 2009, and read them any time between January 1st and December 31st.

My goal is to read at least 30 of my own books this year. Here's what's on my list so far as of July 26, 2009:

1. American Wife, by Curtis Sittenfeld
2. The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society, by Mary Ann Shaffer and Annie Barrows 3. Note to Self: 30 Women on Hardship, Humiliation, Heartbreak, and Overcoming it All, edited by Andrea Buchanan
4. Three Cups of Tea, by Greg Mortenson and David Oliver Relin
5. When in Doubt, Sing: Prayer in Daily Life, by Jane Redmont
6. You Shall Know Our Velocity! by Dave Eggers
7. The Second Assistant, by Clare Naylor and Mimi Hare
8. The First Assistant, by Clare Naylor and Mimi Hare
9. Gods Behaving Badly, by Marie Phillips
10. French Milk, by Lucy Knisley
11. Gentlemen and Players, by Joanne Harris
12. In a Sunburned Country, by Bill Bryson
13. Little Women, by Louisa May Alcott
14. Outliers: The Story of Success, by Malcolm Gladwell
15. Little Men, by Louisa May Alcott
16. Beginner's Greek, by James Collins
17. Holly's Inbox, by Holly Denham
18. Jo's Boys, by Louisa May Alcott
19. Snow Flower and the Secret Fan, by Lisa See

As you can tell, I've had a LOT on the to be read (TBR) pile for a verrrrrrrryyyyy long time.

And if you're a regular reader, you know the button drill. Just click on the buttons in the sidebar for the latest and greatest updates.

Wow! How many more reading challenges can I sign up for?

You frighten me with all of your challenges. I often wonder if there's one central spot that we can "shop from" for book challenges. I think I'm down for 10 right now.

Wow, was that 3 or 4 book challenges in a row? Please tell me you've already read the twilight series and this will be your second time? Or have you not turned to the dark side yet?

I just found your blog today, saw you commented at Yaya's of which I am a regular so I thought I'd stop by! I LOVE reading! Right now I'm working on the True Blood series. My fav book of all time is To Kill a Mocking Bird.

I thought you already read the Anne Series? Looking forward to reading your reviews on them. I loved that series. I even wanted to name one of my girls Anne Shirley, but my Hubby said that sounded like an old lady name. What does he know:p

But this seems like a challenge I can do. I am gonna think about it. It might spark my love for reading again.

Good luck:)

#30 and 31 should be moved into the top spots if you ask me! Two of my favorite books of ALL TIME!

And does this challenge mean books that you already have lying around? I read it as books that you yourself had written at first. I thought "Boy, that is really hard if you aren't published." Perhaps I am up past my bedtime and should go to sleep now.

Fantastic list.. I have Three Cups of Tea and Five Quarters of the Orange as well. Will you review them all, as well? I've always been curious about Omnivore's Dilemma!

Really great blog!
